These Shipping Terms apply when you get a transportation quote or book vehicle transportation through the Low Miles No Miles Service. They are part of the Low Miles No Miles Terms of Use. "LMNM," "we" and "us" mean Low Miles No Miles, LLC. "You" means the person who requests a quote or books transportation.
1. How transportation works on LMNM
1.1. Our transportation provider. LMNM offers vehicle transportation through a third-party transportation provider (the "provider"). The provider arranges each shipment with an independent motor carrier, which picks up, transports and delivers the vehicle. The provider is registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). We will give you its name and USDOT number on request at support@lowmilesnomiles.com, so you can look up its registration at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov. Where the provider supplies it, we can tell you which carrier is assigned to your shipment, and you may look up that carrier on the same site.
1.2. What LMNM does. LMNM shows you quotes from the provider, collects the transportation price from you when you book, places your order with the provider, passes along status updates, and helps with questions and claims about your booking. The provider bills LMNM for the transportation after delivery.
1.3. What LMNM does not do. LMNM does not own or operate trucks, employ drivers, or physically transport vehicles, and is not the motor carrier for any shipment. LMNM does not insure vehicles in transit. LMNM is not the buyer or seller of the vehicle being shipped.
2. Quotes
2.1. A quote is based on the information you give, including pickup and delivery locations, the vehicle, whether it runs and drives, any modifications or oversize features, the service level (for example, open or enclosed transport) and your requested dates. A price shown on a vehicle page is an estimate for the ZIP code and trailer type you chose. When you book, LMNM checks the current price for your exact pickup and delivery details and shows it to you before you confirm. You are charged only the price you confirm.
2.2. If the information you gave is incomplete or inaccurate, for example if the vehicle does not run, is larger than stated, or cannot be reached at the pickup location, the price or timing may change, or the provider or carrier may decline the shipment. We will tell you about any price change before we charge it.
2.3. Price. The price shown when you book is the total price you pay LMNM for the transportation. It consists of the provider's charge. Any tax that applies is shown before you confirm.
3. Booking and payment
3.1. You book by reviewing the quote and these Shipping Terms and confirming. When you confirm, you authorize LMNM to charge the total transportation price to your payment card. We send a booking confirmation by email with the details of your booking.
3.2. Who may book. You may book transportation for a vehicle you are buying, selling or own. You are responsible for making sure the person releasing the vehicle at pickup and the person receiving it at delivery are available, are authorized and have been told about the shipment. If you are a buyer shipping a vehicle you bought from a seller, you must arrange the release of the vehicle with the seller. LMNM is not responsible if a seller will not release a vehicle.
3.3. Timing. Pickup and delivery dates and times are estimates. Carriers work around weather, road conditions, mechanical issues, other stops and safety rules, and delays can happen. Neither LMNM nor the provider guarantees a specific pickup or delivery date unless your booking confirmation expressly says a date is guaranteed.
4. Preparing the vehicle
Before pickup, you should:
- remove personal belongings, toll tags and loose items (carriers are generally not responsible for personal items left in a vehicle);
- make sure the vehicle is in the condition you described, with enough fuel or charge to be loaded and unloaded;
- tell us about any leaks, mechanical problems, low ground clearance, aftermarket parts or other special handling needs; and
- provide keys and any information the carrier needs to load and unload the vehicle.
Do not ship hazardous materials, firearms, or anything illegal in a vehicle.
5. Pickup and delivery inspections
5.1. At pickup and at delivery, the carrier's driver will complete an inspection, condition report or bill of lading. Inspect the vehicle with the driver, take photos, and make sure any existing damage at pickup, and any new damage at delivery, is written on the paperwork before you sign.
5.2. If you see damage at delivery, note it on the delivery paperwork before signing, take photos, and tell us as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours, at support@lowmilesnomiles.com. Noting damage at delivery makes a claim much easier to prove.
6. Damage, loss and claims
6.1. Who is responsible. The motor carrier that transports your vehicle is responsible for loss of or damage to the vehicle while it is in the carrier's care, as federal law and the carrier's terms provide.
6.2. Making a claim. Send your claim to us at support@lowmilesnomiles.com with your booking number, photos, the pickup and delivery paperwork and a description of the damage. We will send it to the provider and the carrier and help you through the process. You may also file a claim directly with the carrier. Under federal law, carriers must generally allow at least nine months after delivery to file a written claim and at least two years after a claim is denied to file a lawsuit. Filing promptly helps.
6.3. Insurance limits. Carriers generally carry cargo insurance, but coverage limits vary and may be less than the value of your vehicle. Before you book a high-value vehicle, review any coverage information provided with your quote and ask us any questions, and consider whether you need your own insurance coverage for transit. LMNM does not provide transit insurance.
7. Changes and cancellations
7.1. You may ask to change or cancel a booking before pickup through the Service or by emailing support@lowmilesnomiles.com. The refund you receive depends on the booking's status when you cancel, as shown in the Service and in your booking confirmation. If you cancel before a carrier has been assigned to your shipment, we refund the full transportation price.
7.2. After the vehicle has been picked up, a booking cannot be canceled, and the transportation price is not refundable.
7.3. If the provider or carrier cancels a booking before pickup, or cannot complete it, we refund the amount you paid LMNM for the part of the service not provided.
7.4. If we must change your booking because of something outside our control, we will tell you promptly and offer you the choice of the changed booking or a refund of the amount you paid for the part not provided.
8. Limits on LMNM's responsibility
8.1. LMNM is responsible for handling your booking and your payment as these Shipping Terms describe, and for its own acts.
8.2. To the fullest extent the law allows, LMNM is not liable for loss of or damage to a vehicle in transit, or for delays, caused by the provider, a motor carrier or events outside LMNM's control, and LMNM's total liability to you for any booking is limited to the transportation price you paid LMNM for that booking. This does not limit any liability that the law does not allow to be limited, LMNM's obligation to give refunds these Shipping Terms require, or your rights against the carrier.
8.3. Disputes between you and LMNM about transportation are governed by Sections 20 and 21 of the Terms of Use (the Arbitration Agreement, and the courts for anyone who opts out of it), or by Section 14 of the Dealer Program Terms for a dealer account. Those provisions do not apply to your claims against the provider or a motor carrier, which are subject to the law and any terms between you and them.
9. Your information
We share the information needed to complete your shipment, such as names, pickup and delivery addresses, phone numbers and vehicle details, with the provider and the assigned carrier, as the Privacy Policy describes. We also give the provider the email address on your account, and the provider emails you a link to track your shipment.
10. Other transportation companies
LMNM may also tell you about other transportation companies, for example for specialized or enclosed service. If you contact or book with one of those companies directly, your contract is with that company, not LMNM, and these Shipping Terms do not apply. If LMNM receives any payment for a referral, we will say so where we refer you.
11. Changes
LMNM may change these Shipping Terms. Each version has a version name and an effective date. The version in effect when you book governs that booking.
