These Community Rules are part of the Low Miles No Miles Terms of Use. They cover what members post and how members treat each other on the Service: comments on listings and vehicles, the Garage, contributions to a vehicle's record, WTB (wanted) ads, reviews, messages between members, and reports. Low Miles No Miles, LLC ("LMNM") moderates the Service under these Rules.
1. The standard
Be truthful, be civil, and post only what is yours to post. LMNM is a community of people who care about particular cars. These Rules exist so that each car's record stays accurate and the conversation around it stays worth reading.
2. What you may not post or send
- Content that is false or misleading, including anything that misstates a vehicle's mileage, condition, history, title or ownership.
- Content that harasses, threatens, bullies or demeans anyone, or that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or another protected characteristic.
- Content that is sexually explicit, obscene or violent, or that promotes illegal activity.
- Other people's personal information, such as a home address, phone number, license number or financial details, without their permission.
- Photos or text you do not have the right to post, including other sellers' or dealers' photos.
- Photos that show an identifiable person who has not agreed to be shown.
- Spam, advertising that has nothing to do with the vehicle being discussed, affiliate links, or repeated messages someone has not asked for.
- Attempts to move a transaction off the Service to avoid the Auction Rules, the Fee Schedule or a seller's stated terms, or to solicit bids or offers outside an auction while it is running.
- Content that reveals a reserve, or speculates about a reserve in a way meant to influence bidding.
- Requests for payment through wire transfer to an unknown party, gift cards, cryptocurrency or an "LMNM escrow," or any other scam.
- Anything intended to interfere with the Service, with other members' use of it, or with LMNM's moderation.
3. Messages and screening
Messages between members are private to the members in the conversation and to LMNM's moderation team. After an auction that ends below its reserve, the Service automatically screens the messages the seller and the high bidder send each other in their negotiation for contact details and for attempts to take the deal or its payment off the Service, until they agree a sale. A message that clearly tries to take the deal off the Service is not delivered, and the sender is told why. A message that only might is delivered and marked for a person at LMNM to review. LMNM will never ask you to pay a vehicle's price to LMNM.
4. Comments
Comments on a listing are part of its public record and remain after the sale. Keep comments about the car. A seller may not use comments to advertise other vehicles or businesses. Bidders may not use comments to discourage other bidders with claims they cannot support. If you are connected to a seller, for example as a friend, relative or employee, say so when you comment on that seller's vehicle. LMNM team members who post for LMNM are identified as LMNM.
5. The Garage and contributions
A Garage entry is a member's statement about a car (that they own it, owned it, or have a documented connection to it). It is shown as that member's statement, not as LMNM's. A contribution to a vehicle's record, such as a photo, mileage observation, document or correction, is attributed to the member who made it, and LMNM decides whether to apply a correction to the vehicle's facts. Do not claim a car that is not yours or post a document you are not allowed to share. Remove or blur personal information, such as addresses and account numbers, from documents before you post them.
6. WTB ads
A WTB ad describes a vehicle you genuinely intend to buy. It must not be used to advertise a vehicle or a business, and it is shown with your username. Sellers who respond do so under these Rules.
7. Reviews
If the Service offers reviews, a review must reflect your own honest experience with the seller, dealer or transaction you are reviewing. Do not post a review of your own business or a competitor's, and do not offer or accept anything of value for a review. LMNM moderates reviews using the same criteria for every review, whether it is positive or negative, and does not change or remove reviews because of their rating or because a business pays LMNM. We may remove a review that contains someone's personal information, is harassing, abusive, obscene or discriminatory, is unrelated to the business or transaction, is clearly false or misleading, or is suspected to be fake.
8. Reporting
You can report a listing, comment, message, Garage entry, contribution, WTB ad, review or profile through the Service. If you believe a listing or a member is part of a scam, use the report tool or email support@lowmilesnomiles.com. LMNM's team reads reports, decides what to do and records the decision. Please do not report in bad faith.
9. What LMNM may do
LMNM may hold, hide, edit or remove content, lock a discussion, warn a member, and restrict a member's ability to bid, list, comment, message or contribute, for as long as it judges necessary. We may also suspend or close an account under the Terms of Use. We record every action with the person who took it and the reason, and we will tell you when we act on your content where we can. LMNM is not required to monitor all content and does not promise to find every violation.
10. Asking us to review a decision
If you believe we made a mistake in acting on your content or account, write to support@lowmilesnomiles.com with the details. A person will review it and tell you the outcome.
11. Your content
The license you give LMNM for your content is in Section 12 of the Terms of Use. Content you post about a vehicle stays part of that vehicle's record on the Service after a sale and after your account closes, as the Terms of Use describe.
12. Changes
LMNM may change these Rules. Each version has a version name and an effective date, and the current version is always available on the Service.
