Buying on LMNM
Buy a car that has barely been driven
Two ways to buy, one account. Auctions run for a week in front of the whole community. Classifieds are priced by the seller and open to an offer.
Bid at auction
A seven-day timed sale with a write-up by the LMNM team, a full gallery and public questions the seller answers.
- The LMNM team reviews every vehicle before it is accepted
- Bidding is timed by the server, with a two-minute soft close
- The reserve stays private; the result is public and permanent
Bids are binding. Have your funds or financing lined up before you bid.
Buy from the classifieds
The seller’s own description and asking price, from private owners and dealers.
- Message the seller privately from the listing
- The LMNM team reviews every listing before it appears
- Browse by make, model or state
How buying works
- 1
Create an account
One free account covers auctions, classifieds, the cars you follow and your messages. Verify your email and phone so a seller can reach you.
Register
- 2
Get ready to bid
Before your first bid, add a card. A hold goes on it when you bid and comes off when the auction ends unless you win. It is never a charge.
How the hold works
- 3
Bid, or message the seller
At auction, you bid the amount you would pay, and a bid in the last two minutes pushes the end back. In the classifieds, the price is the seller’s asking price and you message them from the listing.

Win, then complete the sale
Win, and LMNM charges the Service Fee and introduces you to the seller in a private thread. The car itself is paid for between the two of you, in person, with the title in hand.
The Service Fee
Before you commit
LMNM does not collect the money for the car. When the auction closes, the buyer and seller are introduced on LMNM and complete the sale between themselves.
