How difficult would it be to relocate the batteries back to where they belong? Any holes drilled in the process of moving the batteries?
Description: the full story
There are Low Miles No Miles trucks…and then there are pre-emissions diesels that were never used the way they were built to be. This 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie falls into that category, showing just 7,024 miles and standing as an incredibly preserved example of one of the most sought-after Cummins platforms ever produced.
Vehicle Overview
Finished in tan over a matching tan interior, this Ram 2500 Laramie is powered by its legendary 5.9L Cummins turbo diesel paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive. The odometer currently shows just 7,024 miles, and the truck presents as a highly preserved example of a pre-emissions diesel platform.
This example has received light, performance-minded upgrades including a Banks Six-Gun tuner (never taken off tune one), upgraded intercooler piping and intercooler, intake elbow, cold air intake, and exhaust system. These enhancements were done with restraint and remain consistent with the truck’s overall character.
A unique detail includes relocated dual Optima Red Top batteries mounted behind the driver seat on a custom cherry wood platform with billet battery holders. The original owner relocated the batteries in preparation for a planned trip to Alaska, aiming to prevent freezing in extreme cold. Those plans never came to fruition, as an injury shortly after changed the course of the trip.
Story
According to the seller, this truck was driven only on nice days, a key factor in its preservation. Rather than being used as a work truck or daily driver, it was kept aside and enjoyed sparingly. Oddly enough this truck was stored inside the original owners climate controlled basement...so you know the level of care was high!
The current owner has added approximately 200 miles, continuing that same pattern of limited use.
Unlike most Cummins trucks which were worked hard, modified heavily, and used exactly as intended this example was never put through that kind of life.
Condition
As expected for an ultra-low-mile example, the truck presents exceptionally well throughout. The exterior retains its original paint with no reported history of bodywork, while the interior shows minimal wear consistent with the miles shown.
The vehicle is reported to be completely rust-free and has no known mechanical issues. It runs and drives as it should.
Recent service includes an oil change, oil filter replacement, and fuel filter replacement.
Overall, this is a highly preserved example that reflects both careful ownership and extremely limited use.

Letter From The LMNM Team
This is one of those trucks that just doesn’t make sense in the best way possible.
A 5.9 Cummins, 6-speed, with 7,000 miles? That’s not something you come across. These trucks were built to work, and almost all of them did.
This one didn’t.
What stood out to us is how it completely breaks the norm. Pre-emissions diesel, manual transmission, and essentially no miles it’s everything people look for, just in a condition that almost doesn’t exist anymore.
And getting around it, it still feels tight, mechanical, and exactly what these trucks were known for before everything changed.
If you know these trucks, you know how rare this is.

My top $ was $46.5K for this. Too many sellers looking for new truck prices for extremely low miles. . The electronic’s capacitors have a limited shelf life. Plastic hardware (interior, controls, HVAC, wiring connectors) have still aged and ever so slowly getting more brittle each year. Although soft, 21 year old tires would need replacement.
This is undoubtedly a very clean truck. It is also undoubtedly not worth +$50k! What are sellers even thinking with these asking/reserve prices??? You can get a low miles 2024 Ram 2500 Rebel for less than the failed high bid this truck got today. Frankly, I am glad it didn’t sell because validating an asking price this high would have been bananas, and sellers right now certainly do not need validation.
This whole action has been BS. Cleanmcqueen had the top bid.
The reserve on this should have been about $65K
Gorgeous truck but I am out. Still well under the money imo. Good luck!
@Colebob.22 the card is only charged to the winning bidder for the buyers premium, the transaction for the vehicle is handled by the buyer and seller.
Why do I need to use a card and not just wire the money? Any tips would be appreciated
@beholdthefield it has not been met yet
@seller – Richard, Has the reserve been met? If not, what is your number? Thank You!
We are at the last few hours of the auction, feel free to @seller with any questions! Thank you for all the current & future bidders! Good luck & Happy bidding
I have put a little over 200 miles on this truck with absolutely no leaks of any kind. Climate controlled storage and short drives every once in a while did this truck just right. Runs and drives like new
@Dealer23 the only thing it will need to install the batteries back in the factory location will be a couple of new battery trays. The only hole that was drilled is in the pics to put the ground wires through the floor.
@Raymond Arnone yes they are the original tires that are still like new, the rubber is still soft. It runs and drives like it rolled off the showroom floor.
