Hi all, and welcome to my auction! I’d like to thank both the new bidders and returning bidders for taking the time to check out my 2003 Chevrolet Express Southern Comfort AWD Conversion Van. This is a very clean, rust-free van that shows extremely well. As mentioned in the listing, the rear seat has been removed and replaced with a custom-built bed that makes for a comfortable setup. The bed, sheets, pillows, and bedding are all brand new and have never been used. The van has also been updated with a smart TV, making it a great option for road trips, camping, or simply cruising in comfort. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment at any time. I’ll be following along throughout the auction and will be happy to answer any questions. Bid with confidence and buy from a trusted seller. Thanks, LMNM community! -Robert Mashburn Mashburn Motors
Description: the full story
There are Low Miles No Miles vehicles...and then there are the ones that instantly make you want to pack a cooler, grab some friends, and hit the open road. This 2003 Chevrolet Express 1500 High Roof Southern Comfort Conversion Van falls squarely into that category, showing just 35,019 miles and representing one of the cleanest and most desirable modern conversion vans we've seen in quite some time.
Vehicle Overview
Finished in Blue over a Gray leather/suede interior, this Chevrolet Express 1500 Southern Comfort Edition is powered by its original 5.3L V8 paired with an automatic transmission and the highly desirable all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The odometer currently shows approximately 35,019 miles.
Originally converted by Southern Comfort, this van features the upscale amenities and custom touches that made conversion vans such a staple of American road-trip culture. Additional upgrades include an updated Smart TV, aftermarket wheels and tires, and a custom-built futon-sized rear bed, making it equally suited for weekend adventures, tailgates, camping trips, or simply cruising in comfort.
Story
According to the selling dealer, this Express has had just two owners from new. The original owner reportedly used the van primarily for family trips and occasional travel, helping explain the exceptionally low mileage and overall condition it presents today.
The current owner has added approximately 150 miles during ownership.
While conversion vans were once a common sight on American highways, clean, low-mile examples like this have become increasingly difficult to find. Many were heavily used, modified, or simply worn out over time. This one survived.
Condition
As expected for a low-mile example, the van presents very well throughout. The exterior retains its original paint and remains rust-free according to the seller. Minor paint cracking is noted on the rear doors, along with a few small scuffs, scratches, and dings consistent with age and limited use. Imperfections are noted in photos. Frame is also pictured and presents in clean condition with it's factory coating and stickers.
The interior remains clean and inviting, benefiting from the Southern Comfort conversion package and upgraded entertainment features.
Mechanically, the van is reported to have no known issues. Recent service included fluid changes and a safety inspection performed by a licensed mechanic.
Overall, this is an exceptionally clean and well-preserved example of a rapidly disappearing segment of automotive history.

Letter From The LMNM Team
We absolutely love conversion vans.
Seriously.
Every time one comes through the office, it draws a crowd. Everybody has a story about one. Family vacations. Camping trips. Long highway drives. Somebody's family member that had the coolest van in town.
And this one checks all the boxes.
The Southern Comfort package, the AWD drivetrain, the low mileage, the upgraded entertainment system, and that custom rear bed all make this feel like the ultimate road-trip machine.
It's a reminder of an era when comfort, practicality, and a little bit of excess all came together in one vehicle. And honestly, we can't help but smile every time we look at it. If you're a conversion van fan, this is exactly the kind you hope to find.

Total bargain currently! This one is way under the money!
Today’s the day. In just a few hours this van finds a new home and it will do so with absolutely no reserve. Someone is about to buy a seriously cool, low-mileage conversion van. Clean body, honest underside, and solid frame. If you’ve been waiting to make your move, don’t wait for the “I should’ve bid” moment later tonight. Bid with confidence and good luck to everyone chasing this one home. 🏁🚐
@MashburnMotors – Great info, thank you very much! Good luck with the sale!
@David Thank you for the question. We want to be as transparent as possible regarding the condition of this van. When we describe this van as “rust-free,” we are referring to the body and sheet metal, which are exceptionally clean and free of rust issues. Photos of the frame and underside were included in the original listing, and we’ve now added additional underside photos for further clarity. The frame is structurally solid and shows typical surface oxidation consistent with age and with what is commonly seen on low-mileage, lightly used GM trucks and vans of this era. The factory GM undercoating remains present in many areas, and where that coating has naturally flaked away over time, surface discoloration and oxidation are visible. Importantly, there are no areas of perforation, scaling, or structural concerns. The brake lines and fuel lines are clean and in good condition, and there are no known structural issues with the chassis. Additionally, the discoloration visible in portions of the wheel wells and behind the running boards is the exposed fiberglass material from the conversion van components and fender flares, not rust. We have been representing vehicles for over 30 years and have built our reputation on honesty, transparency, and accurate descriptions. Nothing on the underside of this van has been painted, coated, or concealed to mask condition concerns. What you see in the photos is exactly what the vehicle presents today. This is simply an honest, well-preserved, low-mileage older conversion van with a clean body, a solid frame, and an accurately represented underside.
Listing says ‘rust-free’ but the video shows frame rust. Has it been inspected for structural rust, not just surface? Brake and fuel line condition? Thank you
@@CRussell I included some additional photos to show the areas you’re referring to. There is no rust on this van. The discoloration you’re seeing is simply the raw fiberglass from the running boards and fender flares. If you review the added photos, you’ll see that these areas are solid and rust-free.
@MashburnMotors can we get more photos of the wheel wells and behind the rockers/steps? Appears there could be rust just curious if it’s catastrophic yet.
@wlst225 Thanks for your interest. The original third row seat is missing and the bed does not fold up into a seat. It is a flat wood platform/frame that can be easily removed if desired. If you have a larger family, you could also locate a third-row seat and install it easily.
For a bigger family, what’s the third row seating situation assuming bed goes easily in and out?
@David The bed is built on a wood platform/frame and is easily removable. No carpet or plastic was cut to install it. With that being said, it does not fold up.
What’s the story with the bed in the back, does it fold up? Is it attached and or easily removable?
