Description: the full story
There are Low Miles No Miles trucks...and then there’s a Ford f*ckin’ Ranger.
This 2001 Ford Ranger XLT is exactly the kind of small pickup that made these trucks legendary in the first place. Showing just 40,159 miles, finished in bright Red, powered by the desirable 4.0-liter V6, and equipped with four-wheel drive, this is an exceptionally clean example of a truck that was usually worked hard and driven until the wheels fell off.
Vehicle Overview
Finished in Red over a Gray interior, this 2001 Ford Ranger XLT is powered by its original 4.0-liter Cologne V6 paired with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The odometer currently shows just 40,159 miles.
As an XLT, this Ranger is nicely equipped with the comfort and convenience features that made these trucks equally at home as daily drivers or weekend workhorses, including power equipment throughout.
Best of all, it remains completely stock and original.
No giant lift.
No hacked-up interior.
No questionable modifications from 2007.
Just a really clean Ranger.
Story
The Ford Ranger was one of those trucks that seemed to be everywhere.
Landscapers had them. Contractors had them. High school kids had them. Your neighbor probably had one sitting beside his garage with 240,000 miles on it that still fired up every morning.
That's precisely why finding one like this has become so difficult.
This Ranger has traveled just over 40,000 miles in 25 years and has somehow avoided the abuse, modifications, rust, and general wear that claimed so many of them.
The current owner acquired the truck less than a year ago and has added approximately 300 miles during ownership.
It's not complicated.
It's simply a damn nice old Ford Ranger.
Condition
This Ranger presents exceptionally well throughout.
The seller reports that the truck retains its original paint and is completely rust free. The Red exterior still presents beautifully, while the Gray interior reflects the truck's remarkably limited use. Noted is some minor corrosion on aluminum wheel faces.
Mechanically, the seller reports no known issues. The truck has a complete service history available, and the fluids were checked approximately three months ago.
The original 4.0-liter V6, automatic transmission, and four-wheel-drive system remain in place, and the truck is reported to run and drive as it should.
Overall, this is an unusually clean, low-mile example of one of Ford's most beloved compact pickups.

Letter From The LMNM Team
You already know what we're going to say.
We ain't no stranger, it's a Ford f*ckin' Ranger.
There are certain vehicles that don't need to be exotic, rare, or expensive to develop a cult following, and the Ranger might be one of the best examples ever built.
These little trucks just worked.
They hauled things they probably shouldn't have hauled, went places they probably shouldn't have gone, and routinely accumulated mileage numbers that would scare most modern vehicles.
The problem is that everyone treated them exactly that way.
That's why this one caught our attention.
Just 40,159 miles.
4.0-liter V6.
4x4.
XLT.
Original paint.
No rust.
And completely stock.
It's essentially the Ranger configuration everyone wants, without 200,000 miles, rusted-out cab corners, a sagging headliner, and three generations of questionable modifications.
We love the weird stuff at LMNM, but sometimes you don't need a crazy story.
Sometimes all you need is an exceptionally clean old pickup from an era when trucks were still small, simple, and built to work.
And sometimes....You just need a Ford f*ckin' Ranger.

who really wants it?
Can we get more detailed photos of the undercarriage?
markaren33- No worries I totally understand- I have bought and sold several from the north as well so am very cautious as to what I buy as well. It was protected throughout its life it appears. As the inside and body conditions show it was definitely much loved and taken care of.
Sorry to ask more about underneath the truck. Did you have it coated or was it already coated? I worry with northern trucks (I have bought them but…) that the undercarriage is coated after rust issues to hide vs. proactively protecting. I am guessing you may not know that specific history.
I am trying to add the pics and video I just did but the Video seems to large and won’t add- I am sure LMNM can get it added, but the pics for tires should load. And pictures from the posting show they are all 4 in great shape. have been on highway for long drive, no issues
mheller15- 1. Yes pic 76 and 77 kept track of oil changes, that’s all I really have other than the Carfax info 2.No work has been done or needed on any of those. Only 40K miles and she runs great, everything works as it should. I would not hesitate to driver her across the country! 3. No starts up fine and runs no noise or issues. I will see if the video I sent to LMNM can be added. I will also do another cold start video and see how I can add it for you. 4.Yes- 4WD Lo and Hi engage no problem, disengage easily. No issues and you can see from the pics, she has no leaks, laves nothing on my garage floor. 5. Yes- I just uploaded those to LMNM so they should be added shortly they said- all tires are the same DOT date. and I uploaded another Cold Start video as requested 6. Yes- I bought it for my daughter as she wanted this truck, but as girls do changed her mind and got a Bronco instead. we had this exact truck when we were younger ran it over 200K miles with no issues so knew it would be great for her as well, I been all thru this truck and it is in immaculate shape, the new owner will not be disappointed! Keep the questions coming, I am here to answer anything-
markaren33- Yes the truck was undercoated to protect from the weather so that is why it remains in such good shape.
Hi! I’m very interested in the Ranger and had a few questions before bidding: 1. The listing mentions a complete service history, while the CARFAX only shows a handful of service records. Do you have additional maintenance/service records that aren’t reflected on CARFAX? If so, would you be able to share them? 2. Has any work ever been performed on the timing-chain tensioners, guides, cassettes, or chains? If so, is there documentation? 3. After the truck has sat overnight, is there any timing-chain rattle or other unusual engine noise on startup? Would you be willing to provide a true cold-start video? 4. Have both 4-High and 4-Low been tested recently, and do they engage and disengage properly? Are there any other known mechanical issues, fluid leaks, or features that don’t currently work as intended? 5. Could you provide the DOT manufacture-date codes for the tires? Also, do the service records show replacement of any age-related components such as belts, hoses, bushings, seals, or other rubber components? 6. I noticed the truck sold on Bring a Trailer in June. Would you mind sharing what prompted the decision to sell it again so soon? Thank you! I appreciate your time and any additional information you can provide. @seller
This truck looks fantastic. Before I decide if I’m going to place a bid. it is listed as having no rust. Has the underneath been painted or coated with anything or is it naturally that way? Even with the low mileage, it has spent 24 years up north, so I just need to make sure
