Beautiful car and very nice looking low-mile DSM! I had one question regarding the long-term basement storage history. Some prior documentation/photos appear to show mildew or mold-related concerns before the car was cleaned and recommissioned. For health reasons, especially with porous interior materials and the HVAC/evaporator box, can the seller clarify exactly how this was addressed? Was the interior removed for remediation, including carpet/padding, seats, door panels, rear cargo area, and HVAC components? Were any soft materials replaced? Are there invoices, photos, or inspection/air-quality results documenting the process? Also, is there any current odor inside the cabin after the car has been closed up for a period of time? Not trying to be critical — I’m genuinely interested in the car, but I’m trying to understand whether the prior storage-related issue was professionally remediated or cosmetically cleaned. Thanks!
Description: the full story
There are Low Miles No Miles cars…and then there are survivors from an era that simply didn’t make it. This 1992 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo AWD falls into that category, 6,915 miles shown and standing as a remarkably preserved example of Chrysler’s DSM-era performance platform.
Vehicle Overview
Finished in red over a gray interior, this Laser RS Turbo AWD is powered by its original 2.0L turbocharged engine paired with a manual transmission and full-time all-wheel-drive system. The odometer currently has 6,915 miles shown, and the car remains highly original throughout with no known modifications something rarely seen on DSM-platform cars today.
Sharing its foundation with the Eagle Talon TSi and Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX, the Laser delivered serious performance for its time. Finding one that hasn’t been modified, raced, or heavily used is increasingly uncommon, making this example stand out immediately.
Story
Originally owned by a single individual in Minneapolis from new until 2023, this Laser spent the majority of its life stored in a basement garage. That long-term indoor storage played a major role in its preservation, allowing it to avoid the typical wear and environmental exposure seen with most examples.
In 2023, the car was brought out of storage and carefully recommissioned with attention to the fuel system, fluids, and general mechanical condition to ensure it was roadworthy. It then passed through a collector before being acquired by the current selling dealer in April 2025, who has added approximately 30 miles during ownership.
Condition
As expected for a well-preserved example, the car presents cleanly throughout. The exterior has undergone professional paint correction and was treated with an SB3 Solo ceramic coating, enhancing its overall appearance. Paintless dent repair totaling $1,450 was performed to address minor acorn-related dings on the upper surfaces, resulting in a straight and well-kept finish.
The car is reported to show no rust and no known paintwork. Mechanically, recent servicing includes replacement of the timing belt and water pump, along with two brake calipers. While service records are limited, the car has been brought up to proper running condition following its long period of storage and shows no known current issues.
Overall, the condition aligns well with the miles shown and its history of long-term indoor storage.

Letter From The LMNM Team
We see a lot of low-mile cars, but DSM cars like this are a completely different story.
Most of these were modified, raced, or simply driven hard and that’s what makes this one stand out the second you look at it. The miles shown are impressive, but it’s the originality that really hits. Finding an AWD turbo DSM that hasn’t been altered is getting harder by the year, and examples like this just don’t surface often.
Stored indoors for decades, then carefully brought back to life the right way. It wasn’t flipped, it wasn’t pieced together it was preserved. You have to ask yourself is there another Laser in this condition out there today? The answer....probably not.
This is one of those cars that speaks directly to a specific kind of enthusiast. If you know these cars, you understand exactly how hard it is to find one like this today.

Just under Six Hours to go, we got to say that this LNMM platform is great, and we are looking forward to where our first auction lands. If you have any questions in the final hours on this remarkable piece of DSM history, just ask. Thanks!
@danisr1, It is a PA Title with Actual Mileage, and Branded Mileage on the front. Running a Carfax we see nothing of the 10,000 Miles even, but showing on Autocheck in 2001 when a title was pulled. Looks like someone back then guessed on a mileage, but it was later corrected. No Issues, and a True Blue 6,900 Mile Car, that will be going to a new home tomorrow. Thank you for the question, and lets get that bid in!
Do you have any insite on the 10,000 mile odometer reporting on on 2/2/2001 ? It then shows the odometer reporting in 2023 of 6,111 miles. How does the title read for the odometer? Exempt, not actual miles or TMU? Thank You

@NosLaser thanks for watching the auction, and the questions. When we received the car it has gone through a thorough detail prior to us getting it, not sure what they did to remedy what you asked about, but once we got it, we had the interior deodorized, a ozone machine run in it, and a proper detail with thermovac. There isn’t any indication of any prior odors, or signs of any previous damage. Hope this helps. Thank you!
