Featured ListingPrivate PartyThis 2003 BMW 540i M Sport is a standout final-year E39, finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over gray leather and ordered with the desirable $4,100 M Sport Package. First registered in Florida before spending time in Texas, Ohio, and Kentucky, it was acquired by Enthusiast Auto Group as a 2-owner, 22k-mile example before making its way to California under my ownership in 2024. Power comes from a 4.4-liter M62TUB44 V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, factory rated at 290 horsepower. Equipment includes a sunroof, 18″ Style 37 M Parallel wheels, power-adjustable front seats, wood trim, and automatic climate control. It is offered with owner’s manuals, spare parts, a clean Carfax, and a clean California title in my name.
EXTERIOR
Finished in Titanium Silver Metallic, the car features the full M-Technic body kit, Shadowline trim, xenon headlights, fog lights, tinted windows, and the iconic M Parallels. The front and rear bumpers were professionally refinished to address a few small blemishes and now show beautifully. Under previous ownership, the hood received minor touch-ups. A four-stage paint correction and paintless dent removal were completed in preparation for the sale. As expected for a 23-year-old car, there are a few minor blemishes, but overall the exterior presents exceptionally well. A set of gloss-black kidney grilles is included.
The 18″ Style 37 wheels were professionally refurbished in June 2024 and mounted with new Pirelli P Zeros (235/40 front, 265/35 rear). The M Sport suspension, Dynamic Stability Control, and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes round out the chassis setup.
SERVICE HISTORY & MECHANICAL CONDITION
This is an E39 that has been maintained exactly the way these cars should be. In 2023, the spark plugs and engine mounts were replaced. In 2024 I continued with preventative care, including an oil service, new valve cover gaskets, a new power-steering fluid reservoir, and several associated hoses and lines. The car passed California emissions in May 2024.
Before my ownership, Enthusiast Auto Group performed their comprehensive 10-year maintenance package, corrected the common seat-twist issue, and refreshed the cluster display. I’ve included a photo of their original listing showing the maintenance completed.
I also brought the car to Bullet Performance Engineering—my trusted BMW shop—after hearing a faint noise. I’m meticulous with my cars, so I wanted it checked out. They documented what the source could be, but clearly stated that nothing required attention and there was zero concern. I’m mentioning this purely for transparency (see included photo).
INTERIOR
Inside, the car features gray leather seats, power-adjustable fronts, matching door panels, and wood trim. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, and driver-seat memory. Under previous registration in Ohio, the LCD display was refreshed and front seat adjustment cables were replaced. As noted, there are small cracks in the center wood trim and a minor crack in the center armrest trim.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 155-mph speedometer, tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 40k miles, with approximately 2,600 of those added under my ownership.
Open and willing to negotiate. If anyone is local, feel free to come by and see the car in person.
