2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 finished in the extremely rare and highly desirable Speedway White over black interior with just 43k miles.

The 2001 Z06 is already one of the most significant modern Corvettes, marking the return of the legendary Z06 name and introducing what would become one of the most respected performance packages of the C5 generation. Finding one in Speedway White makes this example considerably more special, as the color was offered in extremely limited numbers.

This particular Z06 takes the formula a step further with a professionally built 346ci LS6 designed to deliver substantially more power while retaining the reliability and drivability that makes a properly built naturally aspirated C5 such a great street car. The engine was built by John Romano of ECS Tuning using high-quality components throughout and is currently producing 500+ horsepower (456whp) and 425 lb-ft of torque on readily available 93-octane pump gas.

Rather than building a temperamental race car, the previous owner focused on creating a properly sorted, naturally aspirated package that can still be enjoyed on the street. The original displacement was retained while the bottom end, valvetrain, oiling system and cooling system were comprehensively upgraded. Supporting drivetrain modifications include a McLeod RST twin-disc clutch, hardened output shafts and a short shifter while retaining the factory 3.42 gearing.

The car also retains several of the characteristics that made the original Z06 so special, including its lightweight factory titanium exhaust system. Suspension modifications have been kept simple with 2004 Z06 shocks and struts and a modest drop using lowering bolts.

Just as importantly, this Z06 has received an extensive amount of recent mechanical maintenance. Everything from wheel bearings and ball joints to seals, gaskets, clutch hydraulics and fluids has recently been addressed, making this far more than simply a high-horsepower modified Corvette.

With only 43k miles, extremely rare Speedway White paint, 500+ horsepower and a thoughtfully assembled naturally aspirated drivetrain, this is a unique opportunity for someone looking for a C5 Z06 that still captures the raw, lightweight character of the original car while delivering an entirely different level of performance.
