1989 Ford Mustang Saleen SSC #16 – One Owner – Vortec Supercharged – 2,470 Original Miles!

This 1989 Ford Mustang Saleen SSC is chassis #16 of Saleen Autosport’s unofficial Saleen Super Car tribute production of 161 examples commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Ford Mustang. HAS BEEN 1 OWNER SINCE NEW The hatchback is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a BorgWarner T-5 five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a lowered suspension, a rear spoiler, revised bumper covers and side skirts, white 16″ wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a Hurst quick-ratio shifter, a roll bar, FloFit adjustable bucket seats, cruise control, and power windows. This Fox-body Mustang shows 2470 miles. The hatchback body was modified by Saleen with a revised front air dam, side skirts, rear hatch spoiler, and rear valance. All were finished in Oxford White (9L) with gray moldings, black and yellow graphics, and a Saleen decal on the windshield. The 16″ DP5 SCC alloy wheels are standard equipment and also includes a Handling Suspension Package featuring variable-rate springs and a Quadra-Shock rear setup along with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. The suspension has been lowered on this example, and replacement shocks are fitted. The removed shocks are included in the sale. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear discs. The cabin features FloFit adjustable bucket seats upholstered in gray and white leather with yellow piping and mesh headrests, which are accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a Hurst shifter, cruise control, a Pioneer cassette stereo, a “stylistic” four-point roll bar, and power windows and locks. The Saleen-tuned electronically-fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 features a 65mm throttle body, larger cylinder head ports, and high-flow catalytic converters. Output was rated at 292 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, and has been further modified with a period correct Vortec Supercharger.
